March 3rd & 4th 2018 @ Mohari Wellness, Oakland CA 8:30AM-5:30PM Professor Monika Kobylecka 15 CEU's Approved
Kiiko Matsumoto Style (KMS) of acupuncture is extremely useful when treating patients with digestive disorders. In this two-day, weekend seminar, participants will learn how to identify, prioritize and palpate different abdominal reflex presentations associated with digestive disorders. Through a combination of lecture, case demonstrations and hands-on practice, Monika will demonstrate how to identify and treat the imbalances associated with some of the most common digestive disorders.
In this class we will examine the importance of the autonomic nervous system, the gut-brain connections and autoimmune presentations. Monika will also share Kiiko Matsumoto’s research into the pivotal role of the small-intestine in treating digestive issues and provide clinical strategies for successful treatments of conditions such as: Crohn’s, ulcerative colitis, candida overgrowth, gluten intolerance, leaky gut syndrome, small intestine bacterial overgrowth and others. She will discuss diagnosis and treatment of common digestive symptoms including constipation, gas, bloating and much more.
Intro classes are open to anyone who wants to learn KMS acupuncture or wants a deeper explanation of her techniques.
For beginners, this class will help organize the material so they can start to incorporate Kiiko style into their own practice.
For long time followers of Kiiko, it will provide a more in-depth explanation of her techniques and serve as a great review of material.
The strategies learned in this course will focus on assessing and treating some of the most common digestive disorders and will feature demonstrations on participants that present with digestive symptoms.
Understanding and treating digestive, gastroenterological issues using KMS acupuncture
The goal of this two day seminar is to continue to introduce students to KMS acupuncture with emphasis on some of the most common symptoms presented in any acupuncture clinic. The class will include lecture, step-by-step demonstrations and hands on training at the end of each day.
Students will learn how to:
1. Incorporate abdominal palpation into their own practice and use this information to quickly come up with effective treatment strategies.
2. Combine the patient’s medical history with information gathered from palpation to treat the root cause of pain and therefore achieve longer lasting clinical results.
3. Learn how to assess gastroenterological problems using KMS acupuncture.
4. Learn how to approach treatment of IBS, Crohn’s disease, functional abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, liver and gall bladder problems and more.
5. Learn about the most common surgeries and injuries that contribute to digestive and intestinal problems.
Handouts/Quick reference guides for material covered will be provided to facilitate clinical application.
